For each purchase, your hiring price increase 5%. Let call this the 5% money generated.
This 5% split in 3 way. A ~3.3% was taxed on this new purchase, so you end up earning ~1.6 in profit. Out of the 3.3% tax, half of this portion (~1.6%) go to the ally. This is the amount you would make when someone buy you. However, this amount is being cap at 1 millions. So when your hiring price is around 70 millions, you only get 1 mill per purchase.
This mean, the players that benefit from the volley are the players doing the volley.
The money you earn from being volley slowly decrease as your price growth exponentially hence after about 500 millions, the money generated for player being volley is very insignificant per 100 millions spend.
You earn more money by volleying when there are less people helping out. The only real benefit are the players that doing the volley and here is the fact:
Q: Is there a bank?
A: No the only way to store cash-on-hand is by buying allies with a 4% return on investment and by storing items which is a harder way to store cash but you only get 75% of what you put into items.See Constant Source of Income thread on why not.
Q: How do I sell my allies?
A: You can't. All allies are stuck with you until someone else finds your ally via the leaderboards, battle, or the ally search screen and decides to buy them. You also can't sell yourself although you can advertise yourself and allies via the 'buy me' thread and world chat although this is discouraged by senior members who are sick of 'buy me' spam but to each his own....
Q: What does 'lb' mean?
A: leaderboard - lb
Q: What clans are there in this game?
A: As of this FAQ posting there is the WARRIORs tring to get restarted right now, The Elite Templar who have lots of members but are relativly quiet at the moment. The IG who are people who came from igangsters and banded together( currently not recruiting ). The developers think the OSF ( open secret farm ) is not a clan since my thread is in strategy but they help each other against spam and help new people get cash(need more OSFs people!)Sadly since I'm drafting this in notes I can't recall the last clan up but they have a website and I recall posting info on how to start a clan on thier thread.( please post name after this). All the other clans currently out are either dead or joke nonclans as of post.
Q: What are the ruins on my map for?
A: Currently the ruins and other borders and decorations are just that, decorations although the developers did state in world chat that the borders won't always be for decoration.
Q: Whats better, soldiers or spys?
A: Cash payout and troop regeneration rates currently means troops make more cash than spys but 6 lvl 3 guilds make more cash than 6 lvl 3 forges by themselves
Q:How do I get speakers?
A:There are 3 ways to get speakers. If you have less then 25 speakers on hand then you will get 5 speakers daily. If you buy a propack you get x speakers on activation, the last way is to spend nobility points for speakers.
Q: How do I get nobility points?
A: You get nobility points from either buying propacks or by getting them on chance from quests(a small chance) the developers said that the next update will have more ways to get nobility points I believe so keep your fingers crossed.
Q: I see people with fancy backgrounds behind thier banners. How do I get that?
A: Go to the AppStore and buy a KaW Propack from them, you get percent bonuses and speakers and nobility also
Q: How do I increase my army size?
A:Either buy land and build troop buildings or upgrade existing buildings
Q: How do I talk to the developers?
A: Use the feedback button in the top left of the Home screen. If it's important, you will get a response via newsfeed.
Q: Can I upgrade my castle?
A: No and it says level 1 because they will add upgrades in future. This is also why there is a Misc. Building category but no buildings.

There are lots of builds in Kingdoms at War. Some are angled towards spies, some to defense, some to attack, some to money, and lots of other different things. I'll try to touch up on 8 of the most common builds.
The Attack Build consists of 24 Workshops, Forges, Subterranean Factories, or Cursed Foundries. This build will just about always win it's first attack unless it is grossly under the enemy's ally stats. The only thing is you'll almost always lose when defending against an attack or a spy attack. Total cost to BC with T4: 644'803'737'000
The Balanced Build consists of 24 Stables, Beastiaries, War Aviaries, or Circle of Elementals. This build will nearly always win in either attack or defense against a build, however it will usually lose against a spy attack. Total cost to BC with T4: 644'803'737'000
A Defensive Build consists of 24 Barracks, War Cathedrals, Summoning Circles, or Titans Lairs. These builds will nearly always win in defense, but will rarely win in an attack. Total cost to BC with T4: 644'803'737'000
A Mixed Build has so many variations. The most common one though is 8 spy buildings and 16 troop buildings. This build offers good spy defense and spy attack, as well as ok attack. Total cost to BC with T4: 653'563'737'000
Pure Spy Build
A Pure Spy Build Consists of 24 Guilds or Stronghold of Shadows. These builds will nearly always win in a spy attack, but have no attack troops. These builds are anonymous and serve well as OSFs but give out low plunder. Total Cost to BC with T4: 677'083'737'000
A Hansel Build consists of 23 Guilds or Stronghold of Shadows along with 1 Troop Building. A Hybrid build is the same, except without the troop building. These builds are good for allowing a couple of hits or for spying and being "too weak" to attack. Hybrids are good for opening then putting up a troop building to keep you from getting unwanted hits. Also, Hansel builds are unable to be hit with no gold out other then by another Hansel build or a very weak player. Total Cost to BC with T4 (Hybrid): 649'363'737'000. Total Cost to BC with T4 (Hansel): 675.613'737'000
A Tower Build consists of 24 Defensive Towers or Defensive Fortresses. These builds have no troops, however, they are good for allowing free steals or scouts. These builds are very hard to win against in an attack. Total Cost to BC with T4: 458'203'737'000
Turtle Builds have lots of different variations. A turtle build is any build with higher defense then possible with full troop buildings. This build often contains lots of towers and very few troop buildings. These builds are very rare.
*Please note that the cost to BC counts the cost of Land Completing.*
